Resource Terms of Use
Effective November 4, 2026.
TriCore Safety Consulting LLC ("TriCore", "we") publishes free safety resources: toolbox talks and their printable handouts today, and over time templates such as job hazard analyses, inspection forms and checklists, safety meeting materials and simple browser-based tools. We want contractors and safety professionals to use them on real jobs. These terms explain what the resources are for, how you're welcome to use them, and where they stop.
1. Scope and acceptance
These terms apply to the free educational materials on this site and anything you download from it: toolbox talks, handouts, sign-in sheets, templates, forms, checklists, calculators and other tools, and any we add later (together, "resources").
They don't cover consulting work. When a company hires TriCore, that engagement runs on its own written agreement, and that agreement controls the work.
By downloading or using a resource, you agree to use it under these terms. If you're using it for a company, you're agreeing for that company. If you don't agree, please don't use the resources.
2. What the resources are for
The resources are general educational and informational material. They're written to help you plan, train and document safety work, and they're a starting point. They don't replace:
- A hazard assessment of your own site and your own work
- An evaluation by a competent person or qualified person, where a standard requires one
- Your responsibilities as an employer
- The regulations and standards that apply to your work
- An engineer's or other specialist's assessment, where the work calls for one
- Training, supervision and follow-through on the job
Using a resource doesn't by itself make an operation compliant with OSHA or any other requirement.
3. Your responsibilities
The company that uses a resource is the one that knows its work, its crews and its site. That company is responsible for:
- Deciding whether a resource fits the work
- Identifying the hazards on its own site
- Adapting the resource to its operations, equipment and people
- Checking the laws, regulations, standards and contract requirements that apply
- Providing the training and supervision the work requires
- Putting the right controls in place
- Keeping its own records
- Reviewing and updating its safety program over time
4. No consulting relationship
Downloading, reading or using a free resource doesn't, by itself, make you a TriCore client or create a contract for services. It doesn't give TriCore a duty to review your plans, supervise your work or monitor your workplace.
Consulting services are provided only under a separate written agreement. This section doesn't change any duty that applicable law imposes on its own.
5. No guarantee of compliance or outcomes
We write the resources to be useful on real jobs, but we can't promise how they'll work out on yours. TriCore doesn't guarantee that using a resource will:
- Make an operation compliant with any regulation
- Prevent incidents or injuries
- Meet an owner's, general contractor's or client's contract requirements
- Meet the requirements of every state or jurisdiction
- Suit every operation or workplace
Treat each resource as a starting point that needs your own review and site-specific changes.
6. Accuracy, currency and availability
We review each resource before we publish it and work to keep it accurate. Regulations, consensus standards, industry practice and site conditions all change, though, and a resource can fall behind. Before you rely on a requirement, check it against the current official source, such as the published regulation or the current edition of the standard.
We may update, replace or remove resources at any time, and we can't promise any resource will stay available.
7. Calculators and interactive tools
Some resources may be browser-based tools, such as incident-rate calculators (TRIR or DART), man-hour calculators, staffing coverage planners and other math or reporting utilities.
A tool's result depends on the numbers you enter, the formula it uses, how it rounds and the assumptions it states. Check your inputs and the result before you use it in a regulatory filing, a management decision, contract reporting or operational planning.
A tool's result is a calculation. It isn't a regulatory approval, a professional certification or a safety determination for your site.
8. How you may use the resources
TriCore owns the original material it creates for these resources. You're welcome to use that material in your business. TriCore gives you a free, non-exclusive permission to:
- Download the resources
- Print them
- Change them to fit your workplace
- Use them in your own commercial operations
- Share completed documents, such as a filled-in sign-in sheet or JHA, within your company and with others on the same project, like the owner, general contractor or subcontractors
You don't need to credit TriCore for normal use on the job. Some forms are deliberately unbranded so they can carry your company's name.
Please don't:
- Sell the resources, or versions of them, as your own product
- Republish them in bulk, for example on another website or in a download library
- Claim you wrote TriCore's original material
- Build them into a template library, app or training product offered commercially to others
Some resources quote or point to regulations, government publications or other public material. TriCore doesn't claim ownership of that material or of anything it doesn't own or have the right to license.
9. Standards and other organizations
The resources refer to organizations such as OSHA, ANSI, ASME and NFPA, and to their regulations and standards. Those references don't mean the organization sponsors, approves, endorses or is affiliated with TriCore or the resources.
Standards and official publications belong to their owners and are subject to their owners' terms. Get the current text of a standard from its publisher.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent the law allows, the resources are provided "as is" and "as available." TriCore makes no warranties, express or implied, about the resources, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement, and no warranty that a resource or this site will be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.
Some laws don't allow some of these disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, TriCore and its owners, employees and contractors aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your access to, reliance on or use of the free resources, even if TriCore was told such damages were possible.
The resources are free, and decisions about how they're used on a site are made by the company using them. This section limits TriCore's liability only as far as applicable law permits. It doesn't limit liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited or excluded, and it doesn't apply to consulting services, which are governed by their own agreements.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. The version in effect when you download or use a resource applies to that use. A material change applies to uses after its effective date.
14. Contact
